Healthy eating is so important if you want to perform at your best - whether it is physical sport or mental gymnastics you are involved in. Nutrition Australia has a healthy eating plan for teenagers. They also have a PDF with the menu and other dietary information for students who are about to sit their final exams. You can find it here.

I love these cute earrings. You can find our how to make them at www.happinessishomemade.net. In Australia Perler beads are sold as Hama beads and are available at Spotlight. E6000 is a super adhesive craft glue available at Spotlight and craft stores. Be careful not to glue yourself together or burn yourself if you try this project at home. Check with Mum before you use the oven.

Girl Power - Sam Kerr

You would have to have been living under a rock (that is, isolated from all media and social media) to  not have heard Sam Kerr's name in recent weeks. For those of you who don't know who she is, Sam is a 24 year old women's soccer player from Perth. Here is a list of some of her achievements:
  • Captain of the Perth Glory Soccer Club Women's League
  • Player for Sky Blue soccer team in the USA
  • Became the all-time leading goal scorer in the US National Women's Soccer League
  • Played for Australia at the Rio Olympics
  • Plays for the Australian Women's soccer team, the Matildas who are currently doing well in the World Cup
  • Has been named by FIFA as one of the top 10 players in the world - the first Australian man or woman ever to do so.
  • She loves to celebrate with a backflip.
Sam was just a regular girl who dared to dream. Despite her success, Sam remains humble - what a legend!

Melted Crayon Art

These art pieces are really effective. Here are a couple of Youtube videos I found useful. You could use contact adhesive to add a word such as LOVE or a silhouette. You could write a quote at the bottom too. You can leave the crayon wrappers on or take them off. A hot glue gun is best and a hairdryer will do to melt the crayons.

Eating a breakfast high in protein will fill you up and increase alertness (very important when you're studying and doing exams). Here are some ideas:
  • Boiled, poached, scrambled or fried eggs
  • Peanut butter on toast
  • Porridge
  • Wholegrain bagel with cream cheese and smoked salmon
  • Smoothies made with milk, frozen yoghurt, fruit and protein powder
  • Tim Robards (ex-bachelor) has these cacao shakes which are sugar and dairy free or you can find breakfast super smoothies at www.healthyfoodguide.com.au (pictured above).

Buzzfeed has a useful article on 14 Useful Hacks if you hate studying (and to be honest, who doesn't hate studying). Number 1, If you're at home, try not to wear pyjamas while you study is an easy and useful tip. I would go to work in my pyjamas if I was allowed to, but if you study in your pjs you are more likely to be subconsciously thinking about sleeping and lazing about and not studying. You can read the full article here.
