I have a confession to make - I'm really bad at applying eyeshadow. Hope you find this tutorial helpful. Laura Lee is kind of goofy but her tips are good. When she was 12 years of age, Mary Grace Henry was concerned about the lack of education impoverished African girls received. She taught herself to sew and started making and selling hair accessories, using 100% of the profits to send African girls to school. In 2014 she won the World of Children Award which is like the Nobel Peace prize for children. Now aged 18, her organisation, Reverse the Course, which sold reversible headbands and aimed to reverse the course of one girl's life, has now funded the education of 101 girls in 4 different countries.
I tried this guided relaxation exercise after a busy and stressful day and it really worked. I felt the tension leaving my body as I did it. The narrator and music and quite pleasant to listen to as well. For those of you who are in Year 12 and staring down the barrel of final exams, here is a useful fact sheet from Beyond Blue on Surviving Year 12. You can find the link here.
It's important to remember that there are thousands of other students across the country going through exactly the same thing as you. And, even if the worst case scenario happens and you fail or don't do as well as you hoped, you still have options. You can take some time off and apply as a mature age student or you can do a bridging course and get into uni. It's not the end of the world. So keep your chin up, don't panic and, as a famous fish once said, just keep swimming. If you're not sure if you have to lodge a tax return you can check out the Australian Taxation Office Do I Need to Lodge a Tax Return tool (note: you may need a parent to help you understand some of the questions). According to the MoneySmart website you only need to lodge a tax return if you have earned over $18,200 (tax free threshold) from July 1, 2015 to June 30, 2016 (financial year). Alternatively, if you have earned less that $18,200 but have still been taxed you can lodge a tax return and get a tax refund. Your employer should give you a payment summary to show how much income you have earned in the financial year and how much tax you have paid. The Australian Taxation Office also has information on lodging your first tax return.
