The Everyday Resilience Journal is a great book for 8-12 year olds. Resilience is the ability to recover from difficulties such as friendship troubles, family tensions, school stress etc. You can find out more about the book and order it online at Michelle Mitchell's website - https://www.michellemitchell.org/shop/erjournal
I love, love, love this magazine and wish that it had been around when I was a teenager. It is such a refreshing change from popular magazines for teen girls. Everything about it is awesome - the content, the design, even the quality of the paper. Ask your school or local library if they stock it, buy it at your local newsagent, Coles or Woollies or you can subscribe to it.
I love this magazine - it's from the people who brought us Teen Breathe. It is full of great articles that aren't too long. It is also suitable for teen and pre-teen girls and guys.
I just finished reading The Art of kindness by Meredith Gaston. As the subtitle suggests it is about caring for ourselves, each other and our earth. It is full of great ideas to be kind in each of these areas. The book is not written specifically for teenagers but is suitable for all ages. If everyone read this book and put it into practice, the world would be a much better place. I love Meredith’s colourful illustrations.
Laura and Steph run an online empowerment community, Keep It Cleaner, which provides you with HIIT, boxing, strength training, running, healthy meal plans, meditation sessions and life advice for about $20 a month. You can find out more at https://www.keepitcleaner.com.au/
If you can’t afford that you can buy the book - it retails for $24.99 or you can get it at K-Mart or Target for $16. A Girl's Guide to Kicking Goals has life lessons the girls have learnt in their teens and twenties, plus workouts and recipes. It is a great resource from two great Aussie girls. I've been reading You Are Awesome: Find your confidence and dare to be brilliant at (almost) anything by Matthew Syed. Matthew was a champion British table tennis player - he played at the Olympics. He describes what it takes to be great at something (the right attitude and a lot of work) and how to do it. The book is easy to read and entertaining. I absolutely loved it - it is a must read for all kids and teenagers.
The Teen Breathe 52 Week Inspirational Planner is exactly that - inspirational. As well as being a planner, it has biographies of amazing women, areas to journal or write notes, thought provoking writing prompts and pull out stickers and crafts. You can buy the planner for $19.95 at most grocery stores and newsagents. It would make a great gift.
