According to Mission Australia's 2015 Youth Survey, the two most common concerns that teenagers have are coping with stress and school or study concerns. One of the best ways of dealing with stress is to be more active. Here are some ideas:
Go for a walk/run
Go swimming at the beach or local pool
Do a pilates, yoga or zumba class (check out your community recreation centre)
Go ice skating
Ride your bike
Lift some weights while you watch TV
Grab and friend and a frisbee and go to the park
Join a sports team - basketball, netball, softball, hockey...
Go kayaking or stand up paddle boarding (you can often hire them by the river)
Go skateboarding or rollerblading
Find a set of stairs to walk up and down

Fun Facts about Beauty Sleep:
1. Sleep slows down the skin's ageing process.
2. Blood flow to your skin increases at night so your beauty products are absorbed more quickly.
3. Your skin rehydrates while you are asleep which decreases dark circles and fine lines.
4. Skin conditions like acne and eczema are linked to stress - while you're asleep you rest and relax so these conditions can improve.
5. During the day your skin is exposed to pollutants and ultraviolet radiation but gets a break from these at night while you're asleep.

To relieve period pain or cramps, you can try these remedies:
1. Exercise - I know it's the last thing you feel like doing but gentle exercise can help because it releases endorphins (happy chemicals). Try going for a walk or these Yoga Poses from Popsugar.
2. Use a heat pack on your belly or lower back.
3. Have a hot drink - caffeine can worsen your symptoms so avoid coffee. Herbal tea is recommended but I'm not a fan. I'll be reaching for the Milo.
4. Use pain relief from your supermarket or chemist.
If your period pain is bad enough to keep you home from work or school, see your doctor.

57.3% of 14-17 year olds abstained from alcohol in 2013 compared to 28% in 2001. There is plenty of research to indicate that there is no safe level of alcohol consumption under the age of 18 as it can damage the developing brain. Better to be safe than sorry.
