You're never too old for a good Easter egg hunt. Here are some ideas to take your egg hunt to the next level. One year while we were on Easter Holidays at the beach we decided to put the eggs in snap lock bags and bury them at the beach. We made it easier by marking each egg with a flag. We gave each kid a shovel and watched them dig. I don't know what happened but it turned out to be much harder to find them than we intended. We even got the dads digging but that didn't help. If you're ever holidaying by the beach and find an Easter egg in a snap lock bag, you're welcome.

I love these cute macrame and cinnamon stick Christmas decorations.  You could always use small sticks if you don't have cinnamon sticks.

Christmas is a month away so I thought I would share some gift ideas that are under $10. These would be great for your friends. I did a manicure/pedicure jar, a stationary jar and the classic lolly/chocolate jars. I'm sure you could think of a lot more. I bought the jars at Big W - they were six for $6.

Chocolate or lolly jar
The price varies depending on your candy or chocolate of choice.
This would look great with:
  • an assortment of jelly lollies (jellybeans, snakes etc.)
  • Smarties or M&Ms
  • candy canes
  • Roses or Favourites
  • any fun size bars (Mars, Kit Kats etc.)
  • Maltezers

Some other suggestions for gifts in a jar:
  • home made treats
  • sugar free cacao balls (see recipe on 12/11/2020)
  • hair accessories (scrunchies, hair clips, hair elastics)
  • jewellery
  • painting kit (mini paint tubes, brushes)
  • DIY friendship bracelet kit - cotton thread, charms, instructions
  • inspirational quotes (handwrite some of your favourite quotes or type them up on the computer)
  • 100 things I love about you (handwritten or typed on the computer)
  • pamper pack (mini face mask, cleanser, toner, moisturiser, cotton pads)
  • sustainable jar (reusable straw, reusable product bags, wax wrap)

This video is a couple of years old but there are some good ideas. Forget the wintery ones if you're in Australia - it's like 40 degrees outside.

If you live in Australia, it's Father's Day tomorrow. If you haven't got dad a gift yet, it's not too late to make these DIY scratchie cards for him. Check out how to make them below. I've included a free download to print.

If you are completely disorganised, or completely broke, here is a great Father's Day gift idea. You can print out these Dad Tickets from Nellie Design and write favours for your Dad that will really mean something to him. If you don't like these vouchers, you can find other designs at The Spruce Crafts website. Here are some examples of favours:
  • Breakfast in bed
  • Mow the lawn
  • Help in the garden for an hour
  • Wash the dog
  • Watch the footy with you
  • Bake you a cake or batch of biscuits
  • Go out for coffee or ice cream
  • Go for a bike ride
  • Play a board game
These things should be tasks that you don't normally do. Dad will be doubly happy for the help and the company.
