Christmas is a month away so I thought I would share some gift ideas that are under $10. These would be great for your friends. I did a manicure/pedicure jar, a stationary jar and the classic lolly/chocolate jars. I'm sure you could think of a lot more. I bought the jars at Big W - they were six for $6.

The price varies depending on your candy or chocolate of choice.
This would look great with:
  • an assortment of jelly lollies (jellybeans, snakes etc.)
  • Smarties or M&Ms
  • candy canes
  • Roses or Favourites
  • any fun size bars (Mars, Kit Kats etc.)
  • Maltezers

Some other suggestions for gifts in a jar:
  • home made treats
  • sugar free cacao balls (see recipe on 12/11/2020)
  • hair accessories (scrunchies, hair clips, hair elastics)
  • jewellery
  • painting kit (mini paint tubes, brushes)
  • DIY friendship bracelet kit - cotton thread, charms, instructions
  • inspirational quotes (handwrite some of your favourite quotes or type them up on the computer)
  • 100 things I love about you (handwritten or typed on the computer)
  • pamper pack (mini face mask, cleanser, toner, moisturiser, cotton pads)
  • sustainable jar (reusable straw, reusable product bags, wax wrap)

If you have forgotten Mother's Day or don't have any cash, you can download these free Mother's Day coupons. Make sure you she cashes them in. Isolation has been especially difficult for Mums - grocery shopping has become stressful because of shortages of items (and possibly a reduced family income), keeping the fridge and pantry stocked has become impossible, she has had to home school you and prevent you and your siblings from killing each other and she probably still has to go to work as well. So be extra kind to her.

Let's face it - Mother's Day is a bit of a struggle this year and your Mum probably needs pampering more than ever so why not make her these awesome spa products and give her a facial at home (if she's game). Most of the ingredients can be found in your fridge or pantry or you can find them at your local grocery store ( or chemist for the Vitamin E oil). According to www.allure.com a facial should include the following:
  1. double cleanse
  2. exfoliate
  3. mask
  4. steam
  5. moisturise and massage

Here are some recipes for spa products:

Honey and Brown Sugar Scrub - https://helloglow.co
Olive Oil Lips Scrub - https://www.thewonderforest.com
Honey and Oatmeal Face Mask - https://www.somewhatsimple.com
Simple Homemade Moisturiser - https://livesimply.me

I'm sure your Mum would be thrilled if you made just one of these products for her and put it in a nice jar for Mother's Day but if you want to go all out and make all of them - good for you!

A Piece of Rainbow has a tutorial on how to make a t-shirt yarn rug. This would be a great project to do over the holidays. It would also make a good Mother's Day gift. If you don't have some old t-shirts you can use you can buy some at your local Salvos or second hand store. You can also buy t-shirt yarn at craft stores. You can find the tutorial at www.apieceofrainbow.com. The are instructions on how to make the yarn as well. All you need are some old t-shirts, a hula hoop, some wool and scissors.

This video is a couple of years old but there are some good ideas. Forget the wintery ones if you're in Australia - it's like 40 degrees outside.

This is so right but so wrong! It would make a great Christmas gift. You could even get creative and make some Christmas slime.
