According to the Center for Young Women's Health (it's an American website - I know how to spell centre) normal vaginal discharge is cloudy white and has no or little odour. If your discharge bothers you, you can wear panty liners (although some experts say these can make the problem worse) or wear cotton underwear which is absorbent and allows your girly bits to breathe.
If your discharge changes dramatically, has a strong odour, if you are itchy or it hurts to pee, you could have a vaginal infection and you need to see the doctor. It might be a little awkward but it's not going to go away on its own. You can read more here.
