21 year old, Indigenous Australian tennis player, Ash Barty might be out of the Australian Open but we will hopefully be seeing more of her in the future. She went into the tournament ranked 17 in the world. Ash won the Wimbledon Junior title in 2011 but three years ago gave up tennis as she was homesick, exhausted and suffering from depression. She got treatment, went fishing and even played cricket for Queensland in the women's big bash league in 2015. In 2016 she decided to return to tennis and last year won the Newcombe Medal for the most outstanding Australian tennis player, male or female. You can read more about Ash at http://www.smh.com.au.

Rae Johnston went from being a couch potato to a wonder woman. She said that it's important to find an exercise that you love and she loved hiking. Here are some reasons why:
- It can be social - you can hike with friends or family
- It's not expensive - all you need is a decent pair of shoes, sunscreen, hat and water bottle
- You feel like you've taken a mini holiday because you got away from your usual surroundings
- It's accessible - you can get there by bus or train (or on foot)
- You can set your own difficulty level - you can walk for an hour or all day, on flat ground or up a hill.

Ellyse Perry has been in the headlines recently for her outstanding performance in the Women's Ashes Cricket against England - last week she made record-breaking 213 not out! Ellyse played cricket and soccer for Australia at the age of 16 and was the youngest female to play international cricket in the country. She represented Australia in both sports until a few years ago when she chose to continue with her cricket career. Women's sport in Australia has never been so popular. If you're not quite up to Ellye's standard, why not play for a local team and get your body moving. You never know, with a bit of drive and determination, you might represent Australia one day.
