I have a confession to make, I have never embroidered anything before. I wanted to wear my beat up, holey Chuck Taylors to a concert but they were looking a bit sad. So I embroidered some flowers on them to make them more concert-worthy. One of the flowers covers a hole and another one covers a blood stain from when I pricked my finger with the needle. I must admit, embroidering shoes was tricky, but I think you will agree it was worth it. I will definitively try a different embroidery project sometime.

You can find some great YouTube tutorials that show you how to embroider different stitches. This project just used Satin Stitch, Lazy Daisy, and French Knot. I used the Penguin and Fish tutorials (see below).

A Girl and a glue gun has a great tutorial on how to make your own stickers - you can find it here. You can either draw them yourself or design some on the computer - just make sure you don't break any copyright laws. Our glue gun girl has a great article on that too - you can find it here.

This card was inspired by https://abeautifulmess.com. You can download a blank image with Australian spelling below. We used a blank card and some scrapbook paper to jazz it up.

Sewing is not just for girls. Chris Martin, the lead singer from Coldplay sews their costumes. The  projects in the video below would make a great Mother's Day gift.
