I love crochet. If you don't know how to crochet but would like to learn, this rug is a good place to start. You can find the tutorial by Wink here. There are links to each of the steps in the tutorial.

I love these sharpie art plates by Shabby Art Boutique. You could make great Christmas gifts by writing an inspiring quote or song lyrics on them. All you need is a sharpie pen, a cheap plate from K-Mart, Target or Big W and an oven. Find the instructions here.

These Christmas cards would be easy to make, just cut circles out of craft paper, fold them in half then glue one to each half of the middle circle. Glue this onto a blank card (you can buy these from Spotlight, K-Mart and Big W). You can use ribbon or draw on bows. Stamp or write Merry Christmas on the front and voila! For more ideas see www.freshdesignpedia.com.

Summer is on it's way and you'll be needing something to take all your gear to the beach. These home made tie dyed totes are sprayed which makes them super easy. You can find the instructions at www.homemadeginger.com. K-Mart has a tie dye kit for $19 which includes all the dyes plus some items to decorate. All you need is a spray bottle and some lettering. We printed letters on the computer and stuck them on to our project with double sided tape.

I love these cute earrings. You can find our how to make them at www.happinessishomemade.net. In Australia Perler beads are sold as Hama beads and are available at Spotlight. E6000 is a super adhesive craft glue available at Spotlight and craft stores. Be careful not to glue yourself together or burn yourself if you try this project at home. Check with Mum before you use the oven.

These art pieces are really effective. Here are a couple of Youtube videos I found useful. You could use contact adhesive to add a word such as LOVE or a silhouette. You could write a quote at the bottom too. You can leave the crayon wrappers on or take them off. A hot glue gun is best and a hairdryer will do to melt the crayons.

Being organised is very important. I love this do it yourself paint card calendar. You can find the instructions here (but don't take too many paint cards from the hardware store).

I found this nifty trick on the blog of Australian artist, author and teacher, Alisa Burke. You can use baby oil to blend crayons in the colour ins. I love the effect it creates. You can find this and other crayon tips here.
