I made this cute Mother's Day gift with a $2 photo frame from K-Mart. I took out the glass and put in some black card then attached some string and wooden pegs (also from K-Mart). You can either handwrite your own quote or print it out on the computer. I cheated and used Word to print mine on some scrap paper from K-Mart.

I spent a couple of days last week exploring the magnificent Karijini National Park in the North of Western Australia. It is both physically and technologically isolated. There was no phone coverage or wi-fi. It took a little while to adjust, but it was good to have a forced break from technology and social media.
I think it's good for the soul to spend time in the natural environment too. We spent hours exploring the gorges each day. Even if you can't escape to a national park (though there are ones much closer to the city), why not go for a walk by the beach or river or visit your local park. Take a friend, turn off your phones and talk to each other.

I need to make something like this as I have so much trouble finding a matching pair of earrings in my jewellery box. It would make a great gift too. You can find the instructions at Oh Sweet Joy.

Sometimes you feel loneliest in the middle of a busy crowd. Everyone else is busy chatting and laughing in their cliques and groups while you're standing awkwardly on the outskirts. If you find yourself in this situation, more likely than not, your inner mean girl will remind you how much of a loser you are etc. Instead of listening to her, tell her to zip it and go and find someone to talk to. Chances are, they are feeling just as lost. Act as though you are confident, even if you don't feel it. You never know, you might make a life long friend.
