There are a thousand things you can do to help around the house. Here are 20 ideas. For years your parents changed your nappies, fed you, took you to the doctor, bought you Christmas and birthday gifts, taught you how to blow your nose and tie your shoelaces, gave you their unconditional love - it's the least you can do to thank them.
- Make your bed
- Put your dirty dishes in the dishwasher or rinse them and stack them on the sink
- Put your dirty washing into the laundry basket, not the floor
- Empty the pockets of your dirty washing
- Clean up the doggy doo in the yard (someone has to do it)
- Put a load of washing on
- Bring in the dry washing
- Iron some of your clothes
- Help make dinner
- Run the vacuum over the floor if it's looking dirty
- Don't leave your stuff lying around the house - put it away
- Empty the bin when it's full
- Put the bin out on bin day then bring it in when they're empty
- Do the dishes
- Empty the dishwasher
- Feed the pets
- Walk the dog
- Put your dirty washing in the dirty clothes hamper, not on the floor
- Put the empty toilet roll in the bin
- Run to the deli and buy some more milk when you empty the last carton

Much improvement has been made recently in the areas of fair pay, forced labour and child labour in the fashion industry but there is still a long way to go. In Uzbekistan, children and government workers are forced to leave school and their jobs (doctors, nurses, teachers etc.) to pick cotton over the summer. Many fashion labels do not know where the cotton they purchase comes from or the conditions under which it was picked and processed. You can make a difference by purchasing clothes that are made ethically. You can download the 2017 Ethical Fashion Guide here.

It's exam time so this list of 101 ways to relax and cope with stress could come in very handy. I love the first one, set your alarm to get up 15 minutes earlier. There's nothing like running late to add stress to your whole day. Wake up 15 minutes earlier, just don't try to cram 30 minutes o extra stuff into your morning as well. You can find the list on Curtin University's Student Box Website.
