Ironing might be a bit of a drag but it's an important life skill that everyone should master.  Here are a couple of tips:
  • Set the temperature of the iron according to the fabric that you are ironing (unless you want to melt your delicate fabrics).  Check the label of your garment to be sure.
  • Spraying your clothes with water helps get the wrinkles out and is cheaper than fabulon and other ironing aids.
  • Turn clothing with prints inside out to iron. Alternatively you can use a cloth (a t-towel or handkerchief will do).
  • Hang shirts on a hanger when wet to make them easier to iron.
  • Don't iron clothing while you are wearing it - a girl at my school actually tried this and got a nasty burn.

Check out this video from Rachel Ballinger (she's a bit crazy but if anyone else can find a better how-to-iron tutorial let me know.

Never, never, never take pictures of yourself naked and share them, even if everyone else is doing it.  Having an explicit picture on your phone of someone under the age of 18 is considered child pornography and can result in a jail term or being placed on the sex offender register. One 14 year old boy downloaded a video of a girl his age having sex and shared it with students at his school.  He was charged with child pornography offences.  For more information checkout the Lawstuff Australia website.

Kangaroos are one of the few animals that can not move backwards easily. Sometimes we get stuck in the past, feeling bitter about someone who hurt us, dwelling on a relationship that has ended, feeling guilty about a mistake we've made.  We need to forget what is behind us and focus on the present.  They say that is why the windscreen on your car is so much bigger than your revision mirror because you need to focus on what's ahead.

Ed Sheeran was recently quoted as saying social media is a toxic wasteland of people’s opinions.* He did a social media detox last year but says he may never go back on.  He has a point, there certainly seems to be more negative content out there than positive. Here are five guidelines that might be helpful. * Daily Telegraph, 6th February 2017.

Research has shown that spending time in wooded areas (the bush, if you're Australian) can relieve psychological and emotional stress.  Walking is also good for your physical health. Perhaps suggest a family outing to your local national park this weekend.
