A couple of years ago the Huffington Post blog published a list of 5 Attainable New Year's Resolutions for Every Teen. I think they're great and might even add them to my list. They are:
Read More Books
Offer someone an act of kindness
Do something you wouldn't normally do
Find a place where you can get involved
Spend time with your family.

When you are happy, you smile and apparently, when you smile, you are happy. Psychologists have found that even faking a smile can make you feel happier and help you deal with difficult situations. So next time you find yourself in a stressful situation, grin and bear it! For more information see Andrew Merle's article, The Science of Smiling, in the Huffington Post.

It's normal to feel angry but some ways of dealing with your anger are better than others. Yelling, swearing, punching walls and throwing things rarely ends well. Here are some anger management techniques according to live strong.com:
Walk away, perhaps even go for a walk
Listen to some music
Write down your feelings
Talk to someone you trust
Distract yourself.

You might have heard Alessia Cara's song, Here, on the radio. Check out this one, Scars to Your Beautiful. Here are the lyrics for the chorus:
There's a hope that's waiting for you in the dark
You should know you're beautiful just the way you are
And you don't have to change a thing
The world could change its heart
No scars to your beautiful, we're stars and we're beautiful.
There's a hope that's waiting for you in the dark
You should know you're beautiful just the way you are
And you don't have to change a thing
The world could change its heart
No scars to your beautiful, we're stars and we're beautiful.

According to Mission Australia's 2015 Youth Survey, the two most common concerns that teenagers have are coping with stress and school or study concerns. One of the best ways of dealing with stress is to be more active. Here are some ideas:
Go for a walk/run
Go swimming at the beach or local pool
Do a pilates, yoga or zumba class (check out your community recreation centre)
Go ice skating
Ride your bike
Lift some weights while you watch TV
Grab and friend and a frisbee and go to the park
Join a sports team - basketball, netball, softball, hockey...
Go kayaking or stand up paddle boarding (you can often hire them by the river)
Go skateboarding or rollerblading
Find a set of stairs to walk up and down
